Warm hug brings happiness to Coca Cola generation
Brunei News.Net Thursday 13th May, 2010
A new report suggests South Americans are among the happiest people in the world, especially in South America and Mexico.
A happiness index, devised by Coca Cola, also found in a survey that people who spent more time with family and friends, rather than socialising on the Internet, were the happiest of all.
The index tested people in 16 countries to find out what happiness means in different places and what factors are common to all nationalities.
In the report, it was decided that social networks such as Facebook and MySpace were not solving the problems of unhappiness.
Instead it showed that families and partners were the main source of happiness for nearly 80% of respondents, followed by friends by 15% of respondents.
The results also showed that 40% of those surveyed find catching up with their friends and family after work to be the happiest time of the day, while 20% said they were happiest when eating with their families.
14% said they preferred to see television and a mere 5% that they were happiest when connecting with people online.
