Brunei reports 262 new COVID-19 cases

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, May 19 (Xinhua) -- Brunei reported 262 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday, bringing the national tally to 145,783.

Among the new cases, 253 cases were results from Antigen Rapid Test screening uploaded to the government and nine cases were results of 341 Polymerase Chain Reaction laboratory tests performed in the past 24 hours.

As of Wednesday, 69.0 percent of Brunei's population have received three doses of COVID-19 vaccines.

The COVID-19 vaccines from Pfizer, BioNTech, Moderna, AstraZeneca, and Sinopharm are administered in Brunei.

Currently, 1,942 active cases are being treated and monitored in Brunei, where 143,620 recoveries from COVID-19 have been reported.
