KIEV -- A fleet of three vessels, together carrying 33,000 tons of corn, wheat and sunflower oil, departed from Ukraine on Wednesday, the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority said.

JAKARTA -- Six tenants died after allegedly being trapped in a fire at a rooming four-story house in Indonesia's capital Jakarta on Wednesday morning, local authorities reported.

DAMASCUS -- Syria on Wednesday denied U.S. claims that it has been holding U.S. freelance journalist Austin Tice, who has been missing for 10 years since entering Syria.

In a statement, Syrian Foreign Ministry slammed last week's remarks by U.S. President Joe Biden and Secretary of State Antony Blinken about the abduction or detention of Tice or any other U.S. citizens in Syria. (Syria-US-Journalist)

LAGOS -- Nigerian police killed one gunman and recovered a cache of firearms and ammunition during a raid against the camp of a proscribed separatist group in the southern state of Enugu, Enugu police spokesperson Daniel Ndukwe said Tuesday.

Ndukwe said that police operatives engaged gunmen of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) near their camp inside a forest in Enugu State last week, killing one gunman, while several other gunmen escaped with various degrees of gunshot wounds. (Nigeria-Raid-Separatists)
