KUALA LUMPUR, Nov. 27 (Xinhua) -- Malaysia reported 2,898 new COVID-19 infections, as of midnight Saturday, bringing the national total to 4,984,272, according to the health ministry.

There are two new imported cases, with 2,896 cases being local transmissions, data released by the ministry showed.

Another four deaths have been reported, pushing the death toll to 36,648. The ministry reported 2,789 new recoveries, bringing the total number of cured and discharged to 4,920,616.

There are 27,008 active cases, with 97 being held in intensive care and 57 of those in need of assisted breathing.
