BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN -- Brunei, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand will jointly nominate kebaya for inscription on the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, local media reported on Wednesday.

ISLAMABAD -- Four people including a policeman were killed and 26 others injured in a suicide attack in Quetta, capital of Pakistan's southwest Balochistan province on Wednesday, the provincial health department said.

SEOUL -- South Korea's income disparity widened last year due to lower public transfer income for the low-income bracket, government data showed Thursday.

MANILA -- The number of youth aged 15 to 17 who tested positive for the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) in the Philippines increased by 47 percent from 2019 to 2022 compared to 2018, according to the Philippines' Department of Health data.

Of the 44,583 reported HIV cases from 2019 to 2022, the data showed that 450, or 1 percent, were aged 15 to 17, and 1,594, or 4 percent, were aged 18 to 19. (Philippines-Youth-HIV Infection)

DHAKA -- Bangladesh bagged the second position again in the global apparel export market in 2021 after it was pushed back to the third position by Vietnam in 2020.

The World Trade Statistical Review 2022, released by the World Trade Organization, showed that Vietnam's share in global ready-made garment exports dropped to 5.8 percent in 2021 from 6.4 percent in 2020, Bangladesh's official news agency BSS reported on Thursday. (Bangladesh-Apparel Exports)
