MAKASSAR/KLATEN, Indonesia, June 2 (Xinhua) -- Workers were making Pinisi boats in full swing, carefully selecting the wood and assembling the hull in Makassar, South Sulawesi, Indonesia.
Pinisi, an iconic Indonesian wooden boat, originates from Indonesia's South Sulawesi province. The UNESCO designated South Sulawesi's Pinisi boat-building art as the world's intangible cultural heritage in 2017.
Being the best-known Indonesian sailing-vessel, miniature Pinisi boats are often exported to Türkiye, Australia, India and the Netherlands.
