Vietnam grind out hard-fought victory over UAE in AFC U23 quarter-final

JEDDAH, 16th January, 2026 (WAM) -- Vietnam booked their place in the semi-finals of the AFC U23 Asian Cup after a hard-fought 3-2 win over the UAE in extra time on Friday at the Prince Abdullah Al Faisal Sports City Stadium in Jeddah.

The quarter-final encounter ended 2-2 at the end of regulation time, forcing the match into extra time, where Vietnam secured the decisive goal to seal victory and progress to the last four.
