JAKARTA, March 12 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia's vehicle wholesales rebounded strongly in February, signaling renewed momentum in the automotive market, the Association of Indonesian Automotive Industries said Thursday.

Shipments from manufacturers to dealers reached 81,159 units, up 22.1 percent from 66,472 units in January.

Electric vehicles continued to lead growth. BYD topped retail sales with 3,596 units, up 42.9 percent from 2,516 units in January. Jaecoo followed with 3,028 units, supported by deliveries of its electric J5 model, while Wuling ranked third with 1,503 units, up from 1,047 units in January.

The figures point to strong EV demand and a broader recovery in Indonesia's automotive sector, according to the association.
