JAKARTA, July 21 (Xinhua) -- At least five people were confirmed dead and four others injured in a road accident in Indonesia's western province of Riau on Sunday night, local police said on Monday.

According to a preliminary investigation, the crash occurred in Pelalawan regency and involved three vehicles, a truck loaded with tree logs, a freight truck and a minibus carrying seven passengers.

Authorities were continuing the investigation into the accident.
