ADB projects Indonesia's growth rising to 5.2 pct in 2026

JAKARTA, April 10 (Xinhua) -- The Asian Development Bank (ADB) on Friday projected that Indonesia's economy will accelerate to a 5.2 percent growth rate in 2026 and 2027, up from 5.1 percent in 2025.

According to the Asian Development Outlook April 2026, the bank's flagship economic publication, Indonesia's economic growth edged up in 2025 on the back of resilient domestic demand.

The report said that private consumption remained the primary engine of the economy and was instrumental in the year-end acceleration.

While inflation expectations are forecast to remain well-anchored within the target range, the ADB warned that downside risks have intensified due to the prolonged conflict in the Middle East.

Furthermore, the outlook emphasized that while steady consumption and improving investment levels are encouraging, sustaining long-term inclusive growth requires stronger formal job creation.
